About Voxel Frontier

Breaking a block with a click and placing one with a right click will feel immediately familiar, and this is an unapologetic take on the block-building sandbox formula. An inventory sits on E, the camera switches to third person on F5, and the forest world is there to be dismantled and rebuilt rather than completed. Survival elements are present but light. Running in a browser tab means the world is smaller and the draw distance shorter than the games it takes after, which is the honest trade for not installing anything.

Voxel Frontier FAQ

How does this compare to the desktop block-building games?

The controls map across almost exactly, but the world is smaller and the view distance shorter because it runs in a browser tab. As somewhere to build for twenty minutes without installing anything it works; as a replacement for a full sandbox game it does not.

How do you play Voxel Frontier?

Move with WASD and look around with the mouse. Left click to break a block, right click to place one. Press E to open your inventory. Press F5 to switch to a third-person view.

Is Voxel Frontier free to play?

Yes. Voxel Frontier is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Voxel Frontier?

No. Voxel Frontier is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Voxel Frontier on a school Chromebook?

Voxel Frontier runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
