BreakArcade sets no cookies of its own

The site is a set of static pages served from a CDN. There is no login, no shopping basket, no analytics script and no tracking pixel of ours, so browsing the catalogue - reading a game page, opening a category - sets nothing on your device. You can verify this in your browser's developer tools before pressing Play on anything.

Pressing Play is the moment that changes

Game pages do not load the game until you click. That is partly a performance decision and partly a privacy one: until you press Play, your browser has not contacted the game host at all. Once you do, the game loads in an iframe from a third-party platform and that platform can set cookies and use local storage. Nothing on this page controls what it stores.

What the games and their ads typically store

Controlling all of this

Because none of it is first-party, standard browser controls work cleanly here. Blocking third-party cookies stops most ad-related storage while leaving the games playable. A content blocker or privacy extension works normally, since there is no first-party script of ours for it to work around. The trade-off worth knowing: clearing site data also erases game saves, and some games will not run with storage fully disabled.

Why there is no cookie banner

A consent banner would be misleading here, because we have nothing to ask consent for and no ability to switch off what the game platform does inside its own iframe. Documenting it plainly seemed more useful than a dialog that implies more control than exists. Not pressing Play is the reliable way to avoid third-party storage entirely.
