About BreakArcade

BreakArcade is a free browser games site built around one constraint: every game has to load in a few seconds and give you a complete run before your break ends. It currently hosts 101 games across 9 categories, all playable without a download, an install, or an account.

Why the games are short

Most people arriving here have five or ten minutes, often on a school Chromebook or a work laptop that will not run anything demanding. That rules out downloads, launchers, and anything with a twenty-minute tutorial. Every game on this site is HTML5, runs inside the browser tab you already have open, and can be closed mid-run without losing anything you care about.

Where the games come from

Games are licensed through GameMonetize, an HTML5 game distribution platform that handles licensing with the original developers. BreakArcade embeds those games rather than hosting copies of them, which means the developers keep control of their work and continue to be credited and paid for it. We do not host pirated games, and titles that use another company's trademarks are filtered out before they reach the site.

How games are chosen

Not every available game gets published. Each one is checked for three things: that it loads on modest hardware, that a run fits comfortably inside a short break, and that it is genuinely playable with a keyboard or a trackpad rather than requiring a controller. Every game page is written from scratch after playing the game, including the controls, so the description you read matches what actually happens when you press Play.
