This is a duel decided by curve, not by speed. Hold Spacebar to charge your throw and let go to release, but the real skill is dragging the mouse to bend the aiming line before you let it fly - a straight shot is easy to sidestep, while a disc that curves around cover catches most opponents flat-footed. On touch devices the same idea works by dragging a finger across the screen to set that bend before releasing. Matches are one-on-one and end fast, often in a handful of exchanges, so a wasted throw with no curve on it usually costs you the round outright. It rewards patience over button-mashing the throw button.

Why does my disc keep missing even when I aim straight at my opponent?
A straight throw with no curve is the easiest one to sidestep, since the opponent sees the whole flight path the moment it leaves your hand. Dragging the mouse or your finger before releasing bends the disc mid-flight, which is what actually catches players off guard.
Does charging the throw longer make it stronger?
Holding Spacebar or your finger down longer builds up more power behind the throw, making it faster and harder to react to, but it also gives your opponent more time to reposition, so a quick release with a sharp curve can beat a slow, fully charged one.
