About Stickboy Defender

Drag a unit onto the wall, then drag two identical units together to merge them into something stronger in the same slot — that's the entire loop Stickboy Defender runs on. Wall space is the actual limiting resource here, not money, since every merge frees a slot for a fresh low-tier unit even as gold keeps climbing from idle income. The upgrade buttons for damage, income, and unit prices don't require you to stop placing troops to use, so once a rotation of buying, merging, and upgrading is going, the loop runs mostly hands-off. Where it gets interesting is the tradeoff between merging early for a stronger wall right now versus holding cheap units in reserve so there's more raw material for a bigger merge chain later — spend too early and the wall's power caps out lower than it could have.

Stickboy Defender FAQ

Is it better to merge units the moment I get a matching pair, or wait and save up more?

Merging immediately gets a stronger wall sooner, but it also spends units that could've gone into a longer merge chain for an even higher-tier unit later. Early on, when the wall is weak, merging on sight is usually safer, while later on holding a couple of matching low-tier units back can pay off more once income can absorb the risk.

Why does buying more units sometimes feel worse than just upgrading what I already have?

New units only help if there's an open wall slot to put them in, and once the wall fills up, gold spent on fresh troops just sits idle waiting for a slot to free up from a merge. At that point, putting the same gold into damage or income upgrades keeps paying off immediately instead of waiting on wall space.

How do you play Stickboy Defender?

Drag purchased units onto the wall to place them into open slots. Drag two identical units together to merge them into one stronger unit in the same slot. Tap the upgrade buttons to boost damage, income, or reduce unit prices as gold comes in. Buy new low-tier troops to fill slots freed up after every merge. Balance merging early for immediate wall strength against holding units back to chain a bigger merge later.
