About Sudoku Puzzle

Nine rows, nine columns, nine boxes, and each one has to hold every digit from one to nine exactly once — the rules take a sentence, and the difficulty comes entirely from how few numbers you are given to start with. Scanning beats guessing: pick a digit, run it through every box in turn, and place it wherever only one square is still open to it. Pencil marks matter more as the grids harden, because the later placements come out of pairs and triples eliminating candidates rather than out of anything visible at a glance.

Sudoku Puzzle FAQ

Is guessing ever necessary?

Not on a properly built grid. Every placement follows from what is already on the board, so a square that seems to demand a guess usually means a candidate was eliminated too early somewhere else.

How do you play Sudoku Puzzle?

Click a square, then choose the digit that belongs in it. Scan one digit at a time across all nine boxes. Note candidates in any square where more than one digit fits. Use pairs — two squares that can only take the same two digits — to rule others out.

Is Sudoku Puzzle free to play?

Yes. Sudoku Puzzle is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Sudoku Puzzle?

No. Sudoku Puzzle is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Sudoku Puzzle on a school Chromebook?

Sudoku Puzzle runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
