About Stone Shooter

The ship holds the bottom of the screen and fires without being asked, which leaves the arrow keys and nothing else to think about. Asteroids drift down at angles rather than dropping straight, so the useful skill is reading which rocks are genuinely on a collision course and ignoring the ones that will pass wide. Sitting underneath a rock to break it is how most runs end. Cyan nebula clouds sit behind the field, which at least makes the grey rocks easier to pick out than a plain starfield would have.

How to Play

Stone Shooter FAQ

Is there a fire button?

No, and the omission is deliberate. Movement is the only input, so a run is decided entirely by where the ship is standing rather than by how quickly you can press anything.

How do you play Stone Shooter?

Move left and right with the arrow keys. Let the ship fire on its own and concentrate on where it stands. Track the angle of each asteroid, not only its position. Slide out from under a rock rather than trying to shoot it away.

Is Stone Shooter free to play?

Yes. Stone Shooter is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Stone Shooter?

No. Stone Shooter is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Stone Shooter on a school Chromebook?

Stone Shooter runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
