About Paletto
Each level opens with a target pattern and a board that does not match it; recreating the target is the entire task. The palette stays small — four or five colours — so the difficulty never comes from telling shades apart, only from working out the order of the moves. Boards are compact enough to hold in your head, which makes this the sort of puzzle you solve by looking rather than by trial, and the later levels are arranged so the obvious opening move is usually the one that costs you the most ground.

Is there a time limit on a level?
No, and that is deliberate. The boards are small enough to be solved by reading them, so the game gives you as long as you want to look — the constraint is the number of moves you waste, not the clock.
