About Diggy

Digging downward is the entire loop in Diggy, where an astronaut with an oversized drill burrows into the Moon in search of minerals worth carrying back up. Depth costs fuel and time, and the deeper strata hold both better ore and harder rock, so every descent is a judgement about when to turn around. Money spent on drill, hull and fuel upgrades between trips is what makes the next layer reachable. The pixel art has a grubby, hand-drawn charm to it, and the odd creature waiting in the dark makes going one layer further genuinely risky.

Diggy FAQ

How deep should you go on an early run in Diggy?

Only as far as your fuel comfortably allows a return. The upgrades that make deep runs viable are bought with ore you actually brought back, so an aborted greedy dive sets you back further than a short cautious one.

How do you play Diggy?

Drill downwards through the lunar strata, collecting minerals as you go. Watch your fuel — running out before you resurface ends the trip. Sell what you have hauled up and spend the money on drill, fuel and hull upgrades. Return deeper each run; the valuable ore sits below rock your starting gear cannot cut.

Is Diggy free to play?

Yes. Diggy is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Diggy?

No. Diggy is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Diggy on a school Chromebook?

Diggy runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
