About Snake Sorting

Sorting is the whole job here: a handful of glossy snakes lie coiled across each other, colours mixed, and rows of tubes wait to be filled with one colour each. Snake Sorting looks trivial on the first few boards and then starts giving you fewer free tubes than colours, so the order of moves becomes the puzzle. Move a snake into the wrong tube and it may block the only route the next one had. Later levels overlap the snakes so that the one you want is pinned under two others, which turns a colour-sorting task into an untangling one.

Snake Sorting FAQ

Can a board become unsolvable in Snake Sorting?

Yes. With fewer spare tubes than colours, a careless placement can leave no legal move, and the fix is restarting the level rather than undoing your way out of it.

How do you play Snake Sorting?

Tap a snake to pick it up, then tap a tube to place it. Group snakes so that each tube ends up holding a single colour. Free the snakes lying on top before trying to move the one underneath. Plan several moves ahead once free tubes become scarce — a wrong placement can lock a board.

Is Snake Sorting free to play?

Yes. Snake Sorting is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Snake Sorting?

No. Snake Sorting is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Snake Sorting on a school Chromebook?

Snake Sorting runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
