About Royal Defense

One road, a castle at the end of it, and a fixed number of places where a tower will fit — everything else follows from how you spend those slots. Archers, mages, artillery and barracks each answer a different kind of wave, and because the spots are limited, committing early to one type is a decision you live with for several waves afterwards. Heroes and spells exist for the moments when that arithmetic has already gone wrong. It is the classic shape of the genre played on a single lane, where nothing about the incoming wave is hidden from you.

Royal Defense FAQ

Should I upgrade or build more towers?

Upgrading usually wins, because the buildable spots are limited and a fully upgraded tower on a bend covers more of the road than two weak ones spread thin. Build wide only when a wave needs a damage type you do not yet have.

How do you play Royal Defense?

Place your first towers where the road bends — targets stay in range longer there. Mix tower types rather than massing one; each wave favours a different answer. Upgrade an existing tower before adding a weak new one. Hold spells and heroes for a wave that is already breaking through.

Is Royal Defense free to play?

Yes. Royal Defense is free to play in your browser on BreakArcade. There is no purchase, no subscription and no account required - open the page and press Play.

Do I need to download Royal Defense?

No. Royal Defense is an HTML5 game that runs inside your browser tab. Nothing is installed on your device, and closing the tab ends the session.

Can I play Royal Defense on a school Chromebook?

Royal Defense runs on any device with a modern browser, including low-powered school Chromebooks, because it loads in the browser rather than installing. Whether it opens depends on your network - some schools block the game host, which is outside our control.
