Q doesn't fire the instant you press it in Apexcircuit — the special ability runs on its own cooldown, so mashing the key early does nothing except waste the moment it actually comes off recharge. Movement runs on WASD or the arrow keys while the mouse handles aiming and shooting, R reloads, and mobile players get the same four actions through an on-screen joystick and buttons. Reloading mid-fight is riskier than it sounds, since the animation leaves you exposed for a beat opponents can punish, so waiting until the magazine is actually empty tends to keep you alive longer than topping off early out of habit.

The ability is on a fixed cooldown that starts counting down the moment it's used, so mashing the key before it's ready does nothing — the more useful habit is tracking roughly how long the cooldown runs and timing the next use around it.
Should I reload the instant my ammo gets low, even mid-fight?
Waiting until the magazine is actually empty is usually safer, since the reload animation leaves you unable to shoot for a moment — reloading early out of habit during an active fight can cost you the exact window you needed to finish an opponent off.
