Off the Hook: Ring Puzzle
About Off the Hook: Ring Puzzle
Coloured rings threaded onto a bent wire have to come off it, and the wire is shaped specifically to stop them. Spinning the hook with a click or the arrow keys rotates the whole assembly, and rings slide under gravity toward whichever end is now lower, so progress comes from tilting rather than from pulling anything. Some rings block others, meaning the order they leave in is fixed and has to be discovered. It is a physical disentanglement puzzle rendered digitally, and it keeps the frustration of the real thing intact.
How to Play
- Left click or use the arrow keys to spin the hook.
- Let gravity slide the rings toward the lower end.
- Work out which ring is free to leave before turning further.
- Reverse the spin when a ring wedges rather than forcing it onward.
Off the Hook: Ring Puzzle FAQ
Why will a ring not come off even at the open end?
Another ring is almost certainly sitting between it and the exit. The order is fixed by how they were threaded, so a ring that refuses to leave is telling you to clear something else first rather than to try a different angle.
