This is a merge-and-defend game dressed up in a garden-versus-undead theme: you place plant defenders in rows, and two plants of the same type set next to each other combine into a single stronger one instead of stacking as separate units. That merging step is the actual strategy layer — spending every coin on cheap plants the moment you get them fills the field fast but leaves you with weak units when a tougher wave hits, while holding coins to merge up front-loads your defense but risks an empty lane for a turn or two. Zombies advance from one side of the garden and stop only when a plant blocks their row, so gaps in coverage matter more than total plant count.
How to Play

Is it better to fill every plot right away or save up to merge?
Filling every plot fast covers more ground early, but weak first-tier plants struggle once tougher zombies show up a few waves in. Holding coins back to merge two plants into a stronger one before placing usually holds a lane better, as long as you're not leaving that lane completely empty while you wait.
What happens if a row has no plant in it?
Zombies in an open row walk straight down it with nothing slowing them, since plants can only block the specific row they're standing in, not neighboring ones. Losing one row uncovered for a full wave is usually the actual cause of a loss, not being out-leveled.
