Three shapes drop into your tray at a time, and that's the entire toolkit — no timer, no enemies, just an eight-by-eight grid that fills up unless you plan ahead. Drag each piece into place and clear space by completing a full row or column; finish two lines with a single piece and the game rewards the combo instead of just totaling the tiles. The trap is that all three shapes have to go somewhere before a new set appears, so one awkward L-shape near the end of a batch can wall off a corner for good. Games don't end on the move that fails — they end three or four placements earlier, when a gap got left the wrong shape to fill.
How to Play
- Drag any of the three tray pieces onto the grid; you can place them in any order.
- Complete a full row or column to clear it and score points.
- Clear a row and a column in the same placement for a combo bonus.
- The round ends when none of your three current pieces fit anywhere on the board.
BlockBlast FAQ
Why did the board fill up even though I kept clearing lines?
Clearing a line only removes what's full at that moment - it doesn't guarantee the leftover gaps match the shapes you'll draw next. If your last few clears left odd single-tile holes scattered around the grid, an L-shaped or square piece can stop fitting anywhere even with plenty of open space left overall.
Does the order I place my three pieces in actually matter?
Yes. Placing your most awkward or largest shape first, while the grid still has the most open space, is usually safer than saving it for last. Placing the easy small pieces first can burn the exact gaps the bigger shape needed, boxing it out before you even get to it.
