Why should I not send every ace and two to the foundations immediately?
Aces yes, but low cards can still do work in the tableau — a two or three parked on a foundation can no longer receive a card or help you unstack a column. The standard advice is to keep foundations roughly level with each other and only push a suit ahead when the low cards below it are already played.
When is a Klondike deal actually unwinnable rather than just hard?
When every remaining move recycles the stock without changing the tableau — if a full pass through the stock produces no legal play and no tableau card can move, the deal is dead. A surprising share of losses trace back to one early choice, usually which of two equal moves got a face-down card flipped first.
