About Blob Wars

You are a blob in an open arena where smaller blobs are food and anything noticeably bigger is a threat, not a target. Growth compounds rather than staying linear - a larger blob absorbs mass faster than a small one - which is why the opening minute of a run matters far more than its length suggests. Splitting lets you cover ground quickly or reach around an obstacle, but it halves the mass in each piece, so it is a real risk rather than a free ability. Nothing recovers you once something bigger has swallowed you, meaning most of the skill sits in judging what is genuinely safe to approach rather than reacting once you are already too close.

Blob Wars FAQ

When is splitting actually worth halving my mass?

Only to close a gap on prey you would otherwise lose, or to escape something faster. Splitting near a larger blob is how most runs end, since two half-size pieces are both edible where one was not.

A blob looked about my size and ate me anyway. How do I judge that?

Roughly equal is not safe - absorption needs a margin, and screen scale shrinks as you grow, which makes rivals look closer to your size than they are. Treat anything ambiguous as bigger.

How do you play Blob Wars?

Move the mouse to steer your blob around the arena Absorb smaller blobs and loose mass to grow Keep clear of any blob visibly larger than yours Split only when the speed is worth halving your mass
