Triple Car Jam borrows its clearing condition from match-three puzzles but keeps the physical logic of a parking-lot escape: cars only slide along the lane they're already facing, and you can only move one that has open space in front of or behind it. Tapping a blocked car does nothing, which forces you to work outward from whichever vehicles are actually free before you can touch the ones boxing in your own car. The real objective isn't reaching the exit in one move — it's lining up three identical-colored cars, which clears them off the board entirely and opens up lanes that looked permanently jammed a moment earlier.

Why does the game refuse to move the car that is blocking my exit?
Only cars with a clear path forward or backward in their own lane can move — a car that's boxed in on both ends is frozen until you clear something else first. That's usually why the car directly blocking your exit is the last one you're able to touch, not the first.

You can clear any car in any order, as long as it currently has an open lane — the game does not require you to prioritize your own car. In practice, lining up matching-colored triples wherever they are available first tends to open more lanes than trying to force a direct path immediately.
